Spanish Rice

Spanish Rice is a vibrant, aromatic dish featuring perfectly cooked long-grain rice infused with Custom Culinary® Chef’s Own Pilaf Seasoning. It's a flavourful, no-salt-needed accompaniment ideal for pairing with fried chicken, grilled meats, beans, or fresh salads.

Quantity Ingredients
1 kg long-grain rice  
100 g Custom Culinary® Chef’s Own Pilaf Seasoning
2 Liters vegetable stock
30 g cooking oil or butter
50 g white onion, finely chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
50 g medium tomato, finely chopped

Preparation

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch. Drain well.
  2. Heat the cooking oil or butter in a large pot or skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the minced garlic and chopped tomato. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  5. Add the rinsed and drained rice to the pot. Stir well to coat the rice with the oil and aromatics. Toast the rice for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Stir in the Chef’s Own Pilaf Seasoning, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
  7. Pour in 2 litres of water or stock. Stir gently to combine.
  8. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
  9. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is fully absorbed.
  10. Once cooked, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  11. Fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.
  12. Serve hot, along with fried chicken, grilled meat or salad
